What happens to personal property when one goes into assisted living?
Written by admin on February 27, 2010 – 6:12 pm -My grandmother wants to go into assisted living because she cannot do most things herself anymore and doesn’t want her kids and grand kids to have to take care of her. She never wants to be a burden even though she would never be.
Anyway..
She is worried about her house and her money. She was told by someone that if she went into assisted living, the facility would own her house and take all of her money and she specifically wants the house and the money to go to all of her children and grandchildren. It’s all in the will.
Is this true – will the facility own her property when she moves into assisted living?
